Hu Jieming uses computer 3D techniques to mould a celestial body of 1000cm diameter in reference of the Moon and Mars. Human existence is suggested through the constructions taking place on its surface. The unnamed digital celestial body evolves in cyberspace based on characteristics of politics, economy, culture, human activities and climate changes in the real world. The principles embody the realistic, prospecting, absurd and unreasonable aim of producing an observable utopian world, which lives side by side with the real world.
The way the audience look at this artwork refers to the investigation of the celestial body : a few telescopes will be displayed on-the-spot so viewers can look at the details of the work, understand the utopian vision, and reverse questions of the real world.
